Oxford-based architecture practice Original Field of Architecture were looking to refresh their website which was unresponsive and hadn't been updated for a few years. Having spent some time pitching new design ideas to them (image enclosed left) they felt that they were too attached to the character and identity of the existing site to simply throw the baby out with the bathwater. So with this in mind we elected to finesse their existing solution introducing responsiveness, fixes, a new colour palette and further elements to bring the site up to date.
Note that Tweets on the homepage were introduced as simple but effective way of keeping the homepage fresh in the absence of other content. This was an entirely bespoke solution driven by the Twitter API allowing Tweets could to be pulled in, filtered by image and then the top 3 presented.
The overall outcome proves that in certain cases a website refresh can be just a effective as a re-design.
